International Sales

International Retail Orders

Minimum international retail plant order is $200.00 CAN (excluding Phyto and shipping fees)

International retail orders can be made through the PayPal shopping cart. The phytosanitary costs are as follow: Any shipment under $1600 value is $42.00. Any shipment over $1600 value will be $70.00. There is also a $35.00 fee for customs handling as the shipment must be couriered to the nearest border office where it will receive a final customs export inspection and stamp. The PayPal shopping cart does not calculate these additional fees or appropriate shipping costs so you will be emailed a PayPal invoice for the balance of the inspection and shipping fees after we determine your shipping costs. Final payment is required before the phytosanitary inspection is scheduled. Shipping usually occurs within 72 hours of the phytosanitary inspection.

International Wholesale Orders

Please do not ask for wholesale prices unless you are a registered re-seller with a valid re-sellers identification number. Minimum international wholesale order is $500.00 CAN (excluding Phyto and shipping fees).

International wholesale orders are best made through email. Payment can be made through PayPal invoice or international money order upon confirmation of the order. The $42.00 - $70.00 cost for the phytosanitary inspection and certificate will be included in the invoice. There is also a $35.00 fee for customs handling that will be billed with shipping costs as the shipment must be couriered to the nearest border office where it will receive a final customs export inspection and stamp. As wholesale orders are usually large enough to accommodate prompt processing, shipping should occur within 2 weeks of payment.

C.I.T.E.S.

CITES permits that allow us to export Dionaea, Sarracenia and Nepenthes internationally will be requested from CITES Canada after international orders have been confirmed. There will be a 6 - 8 week processing period as Environment Canada prepares the permits for each order. There is no additional charge for acquisition of a CITES permit but all purchase and shipment details along with full payment must be completed before the CITES permit can be requested. Please note that all phytosanitary and associated export fees as well as responsibility and costs for any import documentation are borne by the customer on international transactions.  Please contact us with any questions so we can endeavor to meet your specific requirements.

Phytosanitary certification

Due to extra phytosanitary restrictions on shipments to Asia, valid import permits in English must be forwarded to us for submittal for clearance with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency before we can process your order. Regardless of where you are located, International Plant Health regulations require a valid phytosanitary certificate to accompany a shipment, the cost of which is borne by the importer (see page bottom for costs). Any potential customer who asks us to break or attempts to circumvent phytosanitary regulations themselves will be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Sales/Shipping to the USA

US customers please read this.

 Sales/Shipping to the EU

EU phytosanitary requirements state that plants must be inspected and treated for leaf miner (Liriomyza) which is present in our area. Even though this particular pest does not infest our carnivorous plants this requirement is stipulated by the European Union and it must be met to allow entry of the plants into the EU. In order to accommodate this requirement all plants to be shipped are subject to a 90 day inspection period to confirm the absence of Liriomyza.

International Shipping

In order to expedite both foreign and domestic customs border processing, all plants are shipped free of planting medium with the roots wrapped in long fiber sphagnum or damp synthetic fiber. Whole plants are then wrapped in damp paper towel, bagged and boxed securely then shipped by Canada Post International Xpresspost Air Parcel. We've found this method to be the best for safe secure delivery of plants and although we don't make fully insuring an order compulsory we do recommend it as we cannot guarantee against carrier problems once the shipment is FOB.
