plants today. I was so thrilled to see the
S. purpurea and D. californica. They were
soooo cute. I immediately wanted one more
of each. lol! Then saw the watermelon
cultivar or the white VFT which I asked
you in the past many times and immediately
bought it. :p
I just can't get over how beautiful and red the purpurea is. Truly amazing. So is the cobra. Truly fantastic.
Do you have any
other white leucophylla divisions or small
plants available Rick? Or perhaps deep red
flava ? Also can you please pick out red
purpurea plants for me again?
The size is perfect…as long as its adult
pitchers.

Hi Rick, Hi Rick, It is almost impossible to find Venus Fly Traps out here in NS. I looked everywhere last summer to use them for the flies that come in the house cause I like leaving my doors open. Your website is the first Canadian one I've come across that sells them for a decent price. Everywhere else is either insanely overpriced, or are from another country and they don't ship to Canada. So cross your fingers for me.

I've ordered from you on several occasions
and the plants that I've gotten from you are
thriving well. I haven't forgotten in
updating you on the 'Watermelon' Dionaea and
because I received that plant mid last
spring and being that it went through a bit
of a shock phase, I'm looking forward to its
unique characteristics this up coming
growing season after a good dormancy. The
reason I'm writing you is that I stopped by
GardenWorks in North Burnaby and I noticed a
recent shipment from you at the store. I
couldn't help buy this specific typical
Dionaea because of its deep red lining
outside the lobes of the trap and not to
mention the deep red inside the mouths.
Very outstanding for a typical I have to
say. I have attached a photo of this plant
for you to glance at in what I'm writing
about. Now, my question is this...is this
really a typical or some sort of cross
pollination that you may have done? If it
is a cross, what cultivars were involved?

The plants came in
today! i planted them in the LFS, used
reverse osmosis water, and now i have them
under florescent grow lights (4" under).
Thanks so much for the VFT. i just want to
let you know; i think what you guys are
doing over there is
great. Carnivorous plants are a great way to
get young ones interested in horticulture,
which is extremely important. I can't wait
to show my nieces and nephews, perhaps they
will follow in their uncles footsteps as
a horticulturist.

for the tips on the cephs. I actually added a layer of live
sphagnum moss yesterday shortly before sending you my last
e-mail. Great minds do think a like. Now comes the fun
part...watching them grow. I'll keep you posted on the
'Watermelon', possibly with a pic as the warmer season
progresses. I noticed on your website that you'll soon be
releasing the 'Bohemian Garnet' Dionaea. Please keep me
posted on you're release so I can get first crack at it.
I've been wanting that one for a while now and they are so
pricey to bring from Europe, let alone the states. I dug
down deep to get my 'Fuzzy Tooth' from Europe last year and
I was considering placing an order in the near future for
the
'Bohemian Garnet' when they are robust in their season. And
there my collection will rest for awhile so I can enjoy them
grow...though...that 'Scarlet Bristle' would look cool in my
bog bowl as well...hehe!

Thanks very much for the
advice on feeding frequency. We have a shady porch on which we've kept
the sundew over the summer. It loves it! Lots of little black flies to
eat. I noticed a lot of little spider webs out there, and figured
dozens of spiders couldn't be wrong. The plant is so happy that it's
sprouted two flower stalks and has lots of new leaves.
My son is having a
successful experience with the plants you grow, and is getting a lot of
enjoyment from it.

Hey Rick,
Just wanted to
let you know that the plants have arrived safely at my
door. I can see dormancy is already settling in with them
which makes planting them much easier with less shock
involved into their pots in my mini greenhouse up on the
roof deck. It'll be interesting to see 'Noir' grow
outdoors next spring in full sun to see its full set of
characteristics. It looks to me this cultivar is designed
to put out some decent sized traps with a very dark bloody
colour inside their mouths. I LIKE IT!

Dear Mr. Keehn,
I've ordered plants from
you a number of times now and every time the quality of the
plants has exceeded my expectations.
Also, I'd like to extend
my appreciation for the free gifts the past three times.
With the exception of
three VFT's that were tragically eaten by my dog, everything
is doing very well. The sundews have all propagated on their
own and have given my terrarium a nice full appearance.
(Almost too full is the Cape Sundew keeps it up) I've
attached a couple photos of them.
I would appreciate some
advice though, I'm having a tough time with the Nepenthes
rafflesiana. One of the pitchers has fallen off and the leaves
look as if they may have been burnt by the sun but I keep in
in my backyard under a huge tree. The only sunlight it get
directly is just before sunset when the sun is low on the
horizon. I spray it as much as possible and we've had a very
humid summer so far.

Just wanted to let
you know that i received the package today, and the plants
look great. I found some cactus and succulent mix (which
contains moss, perlite and washed sand as described in your
care guide) and we planted them in clay pots. Shortly after,
the traps started opening, so it looks like its a good
sign....
I also wanted to
thank you for the extra dew plant... It is gorgeous..... my
wife loves it, and she said that she most likely will be
ordering other plants for herself in the future..... she is
also a budding photographer who loves macro photography, so I
wouldn't be surprised in finding a pic with a huge dewdrop in

I have received my
plants - thank you. I was very happy with how well they were
packaged. And, I received them on Friday. So, they did not have to
wait too long without light and air.

wonderful packing job done on the plants. They arrived completely

The Neps have arrived
safely. Last night was around -2C so I was a little worried but they
came today in great shape. Not a sign of frost. Some pitchers are a
little weak (as expected) but everything looks awesome in the setup. I
also just about used all that soil planting them up. I have about 1/4
bag left which is perfect. I'm glad I listened and ordered more soil!
Anyways just giving you a
quick update, I will be gone for most of this weekend however the
plants are watered and should be fine until I get back. Thanks again

Hi Rick, It's Scott from Ontario. I just got my lance leaf sundew today. Thanks very much for the bonus Drosera tokaiensis, it is very much appreciated. The plants seem to be in pretty good shape. Also I found a long stem with flower buds on it in the container with the plants. I am not sure which plant it came from because it must have broken off during shipping. Do you think that the plant will generate another flower stem?
