We at Real
Keehn Concepts have dedicated ourselves to making available
an ever increasing selection of Carnivorous plants so as to
share in the beauty and wonder of these stationary
predators. Although the plants can be grown from seed and be
propagated through rhizome division or stem or leaf
cuttings, these methods are far too slow to be able to meet
any kind of a demand for the plants. Because of this, many
of these unique plants are now being placed on the
endangered species list due to unlawful harvesting of wild
plants combined with habitat destruction from human
encroachment and global warming.
In an effort
to help protect carnivorous plants in the wild we have opted
instead to micropropagate them "in
vitro" through the science of sterile tissue culture.
By producing carnivorous plants in this fashion we are able to
make them available to the general public without
jeopardizing wild populations. It
took many years to acquire the knowledge to be able to
successfully perform micropropagation of carnivorous plants but after
following the disciplines, techniques and protocols of the
science, combined with extensive experimentation, we have
achieved our goal and can now clone many varieties "en
mass". |
